Work through the requested markers
Select a marker and place it on the appropriate part of the model. Check shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles from more than one angle.
Symmetry can help with a symmetric model, but inspect both sides. A mirrored point can miss the surface on an asymmetric character.
Resolve placement warnings
Read the inline findings before running the rig. Implausible height order, spacing or off-surface placement can produce a poor skeleton fit. Do not use a higher-quality option as a substitute for correcting obvious placement errors.
Inspect before another pass
After rigging, use the available body-polish controls to correct the fit when needed. A new rigging pass is separate from merely rotating or inspecting the preview; review the action and cost first.
